Women’s Exchange of Washtenaw (WXW)

e-Waste Recycling Event

Where: Washtenaw Intermediate School District- District Office, 1819 South Wagner Road, Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor Public Schools and the Climate Savers Computing Initiatives are sponsoring a Free e-Waste Recycling Events for local institutions.

Responsibly recycle! Unload old or unused computer systems, cell phones, televisions, printers and other electronics.

Makeover Magic
When: Thursday, May 8
Where: Walsh College Novi Campus
They will be revealing the results of the 2007 Extreme Small Business Makeover. Come and find out how three Michigan companies were transformed. You will also have a chance to apply for the 2008 competition, where the successful companies will win over $35,000 of IT infrastructure and professional services to take their business to the next level. The full conference program includes keynote speaker Vic Concant, U of M graduate and Chairman of Nightingale Conant, the publisher of such legends of the motivation industry such as Dale Carnegie and Tony Robbins. Bob Liggett, Owner of Big Boy Restaurants International, will also be telling us how he rescued the Big Boy chain from extinction.

Ann Arbor Chamber Day at Michigan International Speedway

Michigan International Speedway would like to invite Ann Arbor Chamber members for an inside look at NASCAR and 40 years of racing in the Irish Hills. The day will kick off at 1:00 pm with a meet and greet in our Champions Club, a buffet style lunch will be served shortly after arrival. Following lunch, MIS will present “NASCAR 101: 40 Years of Racing in Michigan.” Upon completion of presentation guests will have a chance for Q and A with the MIS corporate staff and also be taken on a guided tour of MIS. A few lucky members will have an opportunity to win a ride in an actual “NASCAR race car” on May 9th. Ann Arbor Chamber Blood Drive

Did you know that every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs a pint of blood? Blood cannot be manufactured - it can only come from generous donors like you. Please help the American Red Cross of Washtenaw County replenish our community's blood supply by participating in the Blood Drive.
Advance registration is encouraged to get you in and out in the least amount of time, approximately 45 minutes, give or take a goodie or two. Volunteers and canteen food items are being graciously donated by Washtenaw Woodwrights.

19th Annual Grillin’ for Food Gatherers
When: Sunday, June 8, 3pm - 8pm
Where: Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Road
Cost in advance: $50/Adult, $10 Kids 13 and under
Cost at door: $60/Adult
Food Gatherers’ annual picnic extravaganza to help fight hunger where we live. Gourmet sausages, grilled chicken, scrumptious salads, delectable desserts and cash bar. More than 100 volunteers and over a dozen area restaurants serve up a grilled feast for the whole family. Kids’ activities by the Hands-On Museum and a food inspired silent auction will round out a plate full of fun for all.  Proceeds enable Food Gatherers to rescue and distribute more than 3.6 million pounds of food annually to 150 non-profit programs providing emergency food resources to those in need throughout Washtenaw County.
