The A2 Downtown Development Authority Board has approved a design for the South Fifth Ave Underground Parking Structure. The parking structure will contain a number of elements that correlate to the values articulated via a survey completed by more than 6,000 community members, feedback from members of City Council, Planning Commission, and City staff, as well as comments provided by many of you at an open house last spring.

The Washtenaw County/City of Ann Arbor Community Development Department is offering training for non-prof¬it partners and others involved in real estate and redevelopment efforts. This 1.5 hour, hands-on workshop will explain the tools available through the new Washtenaw County Commu¬nity Development Mapping website. This interactive system is specifically designed to help affordable housing developers evaluate properties for development feasibility, as well as create maps for financial applications. The website is available to the public and the features are useful for any type of development. The County GIS and Community Development departments will provide training on how to view and query the site data and how to use the advanced analysis tools. A complimentary training manual will be provided. No former knowledge of GIS is necessary.

The event is open to all residents and businesses in Washtenaw County. Customers may bring up to 100 pounds of paper for shredding. One hundred pounds of paper is approximately four standard banker’s boxes or one 96-gallon trash can. All shredded paper will be recycled. Customers with more than 100 pounds of paper to be shredded must make arrangements before the event by calling the Drop-Off Station at 734.971.7400.

• Enrolled agents receive one CPE credit for a minimum 50-minute participation from the start of the forum
• Other tax professionals may receive credit if the phone forum meets your organization’s or state’s CPE requirements
• To receive credit, register individually and use your PIN
• Call in using your individual phone line so your attendance can be verified
• Look for your Certificate of Completion by e-mail approximately one week after the forum. If you have met all requirements, you will receive your certificate automatically; there’s no need to follow up
If you and others in your office do not require a CPE certificate, please have only one person register on the group’s behalf and use your speaker phone to dial in. This will maximize the number of lines available for other participants and help reduce costs.
